Clearing US CPA

Happy to share that I have cleared the US CPA examination.

There is an increasing trend of Indian promoters with US residency or citizenship, as well as cross-border M&A involving US entities, funds, and holding structures. In practice, this often brings US tax and regulatory considerations directly into discussions while structuring transactions, reorganisations, and promoter or family succession planning in India.

Through the CPA journey, I have built a working familiarity with how US tax and regulatory principles around entity choice, residency, pass-through taxation, grantor/ non grantor trusts, capital gains taxation, and federal compliance intersect with India-centric M&A structuring and succession planning.

The learning adds an additional layer of context when evaluating cross-border situations, particularly where Indian deal structuring, tax efficiency, and continuity planning need to align with US rules and realities.
